Background and Philosophy
I believe that everyone faces challenges in this world, and building a supportive relationship in therapy can help one navigate through these struggles. We all want to feel connected, heard, and understood. Whether you have an extensive history of trauma, difficulty in relationships, or even if you've had a nagging thought about a pattern in your life that may no longer be serving you, a collaborative therapeutic relationship can help you learn the skills to cope with whatever life brings you.
I have extensive experience working in community mental health, including having been a Clinical Supervisor of an Adult Mental Health Program in Hood River for many years. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. My approach combines an array of evidence-based counseling techniques that are tailored to suit the needs of the client, also taking into account cultural awareness and a commitment to social justice. Having served clients in the Gorge for sometime, I know how important confidentiality is in a small town, and my office space is private and peaceful.
I specialize in individual therapy with adults and adolescents, and am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. I am on the Oregon Board of LPC's supervisor registry to provide clinical supervision to interns working towards LPC licensure.
